STORYKNIFE Storyknife grew out of some years of talking story among people with shared passions for rural Alaska and the power of education to improve life at every intersection. We have been collecting oral histories in Alaska and drawing connections between traditional culture and modern technology. Currently we are producing a documentary, Unraveling the Wind that looks at aviation in the Y-K Delta region of western Alaska and the challenges for those who fly there. On the surface, it is a story about the need for locally trained pilots and how it has spurred an economic renaissance in remote western Alaska. More importantly, it looks at the past and ahead to the future of indigenous peoples at the intersection of tradition and technology. Story - Is the mystery that has the power to reach within each one of us.
